About Me
My passion for photography began in college where I studied photography, graphics, illustration, painting, and printmaking while pursuing a BFA in Communication Arts. During the summer of 1979, I had a college internship as a public relations photographer with the NC State Parks which nurtured my love of nature and photography.

In 2017, I retired after over 36 years of work experience in exhibition design including over 20 years at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences and 9 years with NC State Parks. Upon graduation from college, I thought I would pursue a career in advertising. Instead, I had a very rewarding career designing interpretive graphics for exhibits about the natural world and scientific research.

In retirement I am traveling more and love exploring new locations to photograph. I credit my design education and years of experience with graphics in helping me visualize interesting compositions, different textures and shapes in the real world. I love post processing my images and printing them as much or more than taking the photos.

I’m a member of two photography clubs in the Raleigh, NC area and I participate in juried exhibits. I’ve received multiple national and regional exhibit awards. If you’re interested in purchasing a print, please use my Contact page.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy looking at my images.
